December 29, 1919 — January 26, 2011

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor Ron Howerton of Maranatha Assembly of God officiating. Visitation will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, January 31, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Military rites will be conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to American Cancer Research.Les "Jake", Jr. was born December 29, 1919, the son of Bluford and Anna King. He married Mae Belle Hilliard. She preceded him in death in 2006. During their marriage, they enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping. Les was a proud World War II veteran of the 33rd Infantry, United States Army. He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and the Decatur Moose Lodge. In his early adult life he was a Democratic Precinct Committeeman for Hickory Point Township, serving for many years. An avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, Les also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. He retired from Miles Chevrolet and Citizens National Bank. Les attended Maranatha Assembly of God.Les leaves his children, Robert King (Cecelia) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Terri Gordon of Shelbyville, and Marcia Alsup (Jeff) of Decatur, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, sisters Eugenia of Sullivan, and Betty of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mae Belle, brother Everett, and sisters Louise and Mildred.Les was an honest, hard working man, a devoted father and grandfather, and we will miss him tremendously. We rest knowing that Dad is safe in the care of his Lord and Saviour, free from pain, and at perfect peace.The family would like to especially thank Pastor Ron Howerton for being a faithful friend and servant of the Lord, and Dr. G.
