Leora B. Adams, 92, of Hammond, IL, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015, at The Arthur Home in Arthur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 13, at LaPlace Church of the Brethren, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, November 12, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in LaPlace Cemetery, LaPlace, IL. Memorials may be made to The Lord's Storehouse - LaPlace Church of the Brethren or Heifer International. Leora was born March 10, 1923 in Hammond, IL, the daughter of Oscar J. and Pearl (Frantz) Beery. She married Walter E. Adams on March 23, 1947 in LaPlace, IL. Leora was a lifelong member of LaPlace Church of the Brethren. She loved cooking and gardening and enjoyed taking care of baby calves. She is survived by her husband Walter of 68 years; children Marilyn Kirkwood and husband Lloyd of Lombard, IL, Janet James and husband Stuart of Hammond, IL, Larry Adams of Hammond, IL; grandchildren Jennifer James and special friend Tom Pierce of Alpharetta, GA, Lori Citta and husband Ryan of Windfield, IL, Heather Brice of Mt. Zion, IL, Kimberly Busche and husband Len of Gilberts, IL; great grandchildren Ryan, Eliza, and Aidan Citta. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and 3 infant siblings.
