Leonard E. (Len) Hoffman passed away January 12th, 2017, 1:50 p.m. at HSHS St. Mary’s. Len passed with several health issues. His body was worn out but the heart just didn’t want to go.Len was born June 25th, 1946, in Dewitt, IL. He graduated from Maroa High School. His passion and love was his job at the Macon County Highway Department for 28 years. Len was a member of Izaak Walton League of America. He served his country for 2 years in Vietnam. Len enjoyed camping, cars, and motorcycles. Family always came first and Len had met many friends along the path. He never met a stranger and was always helping someone. He and his best friend Jim Michels were partners in crime. He loved our beloved Lab, Winnie Pooh.Len was preceded in death by his parents Pop (Bill) Hoffman and Pookie (Bonnie) Hoffman, father-in-law John Marconi; sister-in-law Pam Hoffman, and brother Addie (Frank Hoffman).Len is survived by his loving wife Tammy; two sons Andrew Hoffman and Clayton Hoffman and his fiancé Deanna Mentzer; grandsons Braxton Hoffman and Landon Mentzer; granddaughter Adaline and Baby Hoffman due February 2019.A graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL, on September 17th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. This is at my request, we all need closure. Without closure, you are waiting everyday for Len to walk in the door. Casual attire please. "
