Leona S. White, 84, of Decatur, IL, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Sullivan Health Care Center, Sullivan, IL. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 9, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, followed by visitation from 4-6 P.M. Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 10, in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Memorials may be made to Gold Star Mothers. Leona was born October 15, 1926, in Ivesdale, IL, the daughter of Benno A. and Matilda (Morenz) Schum. She married James D. White, Sr. on March 31, 1945 in Dalton City, IL. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1969. Leona was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She worked for the State of Illinois Dept. of Corrections as a Data Processor. She is survived by her children, Benno A. White, Sr. and wife Brenda of Litchfield, IL, Mary Ellen Georgette and husband Dennis of Las Vegas, NV, Charles E. White and wife Nanci of Downingtown, PA, Christopher L. White and wife Cindy of Lakeland, FL, John J. White and wife Dee of Bedford, PA, Donald D. White, Sr and wife Cindy of Apple Valley, CA, Elizabeth A. Kern of Fairmont, IL, Theresa M. Masters and husband Mike of Waldo, WI, Douglas A. White of Decatur, IL;17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother, Glen Schum and wife Polly of Raymond, IL; sisters, Lorretta M. Mayer of Sierra Vista, AZ, Lucille Wilson of Council, ID, Lorena Niehaus of Hillsboro, IL, Sandy (Lois) Filiberto of Bull Head City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James D. Sr., sons James D. Jr. and Harold E. White, Sr., brothers Carl, Francis and Harold, sisters Jeanette and Lillian and sister in law Myrtle Schum.
