Lena M. Martin, 87, of Cerro Gordo, IL, passed away 8:23 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL, with visitation 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, September 14, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Brethren Church, Cerro Gordo IL. Lena was born November 4, 1926 in Barnhill, IL, the daughter of Hershel F. and Cletis M. (Mae) Ivers. She married Orban Arney on June 2, 1943 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1949. She later married Charles Edward Martin, Sr. on November 11, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2006. Lena was a member of the Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo, IL. She worked as a tailor for Sam Loeb and Bachrach's and was a dispatcher for Cerro Gordo Ambulance Service for 20 years. Lena enjoyed quilting, making over 87 quilts for grandchildren, family and friends and made her granddaughters wedding and prom dresses. She was an avid book reader, later after losing her sight, she enjoyed listening to books on tape. Our Mother enjoyed her bible study group, but in later years she spent most of her time taking care of our Father. She is survived by her children Carol Goff and husband Willard of Decatur, IL; Becky Crutchfield and husband Cecil of Peoria, IL, James Martin and wife Pam of Lebanon, OH, Charles E. Martin II and wife Lou of Ewa, Hawaii, Debra Lockhart of Rantoul, IL; 23 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother David Ivers and wife Vickie of Jupiter, FL; sisters Pearl Patrick of Fairfield, IL, Nancy Englebright and husband Allen of Paris, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Orban and Charles, daughter Kathy and sister Emma McCarty. "
