Lee Collins

Lee R. Collins (LeRoy), 54, of Decatur, IL passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 6:30pm at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. The visitation will be from 4-6:30pm prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Memorials may be made to the Oasis Center or St. Mary’s Hospital. Lee was born on September 6, 1961 in Decatur, IL, the son of Ira E. (Bud) and Mary JoAnne (Gevatoski) Collins-Ziemer. He worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 10 years. Prior to that, Lee also worked at Firestone and ADM. Lee was a huge Chicago Bears fan, loved to travel, especially to Puerto Rico, and loved to read. Lee is survived by his mother JoAnne (Gevatoski) Collins-Ziemer of Decatur, IL; three sisters; Rainey (husband, Mark) Crowner of Decatur, IL, Maggie Collins of Decatur, IL, and Theresa (husband, Steve) Ragan of Forsyth, IL; and one brother, Mark (wife, Davena) Ziemer of Decatur, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; Adam (wife, Melissa) Miller and their children Luke and Tessa of Mt. Zion, IL; Lindsey Crowner of Savoy, IL; Trisha (husband, Aaron) McCubbin and their children Summer and Linkin of Bloomington, IL; Jamie and Drew Ragan both of Forsyth, IL; and Shawn Ziemer and his children Travis and Isaac of Boody, IL. Lee was preceded in death by his father Bud and step-father, Robert Ziemer. "
