Leanne Bowrey, 77, of Monticello, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10 am to 11 am, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo with funeral service to follow at 11 am. Memorials in Leanne’s honor may be made to PiatTran, Monticello, IL.
Leanne was born on August 2, 1948, in Springfield, IL , the daughter of Charles and Norma (Davis) Leslie. She married Steven Bowrey on May 14, 1967.
She worked for State Bank of Bement in Cerro Gordo for many years until retirement. She received her associate’s degree in accounting from Richland Community College later in life. She was a member of The Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkid and great-grandkids and doing jigsaw puzzles
Leanne is survived her son Gary Bowrey of Decatur; her daughter Gail Bowrey of Mt. Zion, IL; 5 grandchildren, Ted (Alex) Bowrey, Abbey (Special Friend Megan) Bowrey, Nate (Macy) Bowrey, Brittany (Andrew) Patterson, and Bryce (Chloe) Alkire; 3 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kaiden, and Brinley Patterson; 4 sisters, Sandy (Stan), Pat, Brenda (Joe), and Debbie (John), and a brother David (Michelle).
She is preceded by her parents, her husband, and a sister Cheryl.
