Lawrence Luechtefeld

Lawrence "Larry" "Lucky" Luechtefeld, 71, of Decatur, IL, died 6:00 A.M., Monday, March 11, 2013, at his residence. Memorial service will be 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Larry was born August 17, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy (Sanderson) Luechtefeld. He married Bella Beam and she preceded him in death in 2010. Larry was a Supply Sgt. for the Air Force for 8 years. He enjoyed visiting with people and enjoyed all sports. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in Vietnam. Larry retired from Wal-Mart after ten years of service where he served in the maintenance department. He is survived by his sons Lorenzo Luechtefeld of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeffrey Luechtefeld of Pennsylvania; daughter Catherine Luechtefeld of Pennsylvania; several grandchildren; brother Jesse Luechtefeld of Decatur; sister Linda Houser of Decatur; brother Robert (Margaret) Luechtefeld; sister Pamela Luechtefeld, Decatur, IL; sister Kathryn (Brad) Flesner of O'Fallon, MO; brother Jeffrey Luechtefeld of Springfield, IL; sister Sheila Lowry of Decatur, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bella, and brother Terry. "
