Lavada Williams

April 16, 1925 — July 7, 2017

LaVada M. Williams, 92, of Decatur, IL, passed away July 7, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. LaVada was born April 16, 1925 in Brownstown, IL, daughter of Frank Mason and Nettie (Gross) Fetters. She married Forrest E. Williams October 18, 1946. He preceded her in death. LaVada worked for Eisners for 25 years as a cashier. She enjoyed sewing, being outdoors and gardening. LaVada had a green thumb and could grow anything. She grew many vegetables and fruits in her garden. She had numerous fruit trees. She canned and froze everything from her garden. LaVada loved to sing and play the guitar and won various contests for singing in younger years. Surviving are her daughters: Nancy LaRosa of Tampa, FL, Sandra Veech and husband Bill of Oreana, IL, and Debra Williams of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren: Bridget, Eric, Jeremy, Garrett, and Jenna; five great-grandchildren; and sister Ida Mae Tackett of Decatur, IL. LaVada was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Ruby and three infant brothers. "
