Laura Lee Welker, 68, of Decatur, IL. passed away on October 5, 2023 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
The family would like to welcome friends to a Visitation from 4:00PM – 7:00PM on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00PM at the funeral home.
Laura was born on July 18, 1955 in Decatur, IL to Robert James Foshee and Corene May (Tubbs) Foshee. Laura married the love of her life, Keith Welker on August 5, 1973. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Keith: 3 daughters: Melissa Flaherty (Shawn), Melinda Whitacre (Charles), and April Welker; 8 grandchildren: Tesla, Phoenix, Stephanie, Robert, Destiny, Adam, Elizabeth, and Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Carolyn Bacon.
Laura had a knack for decorating. She loved to put her house and yard together for the different holidays and seasons. Laura was a gifted cake decorator here in Decatur for many years. Her heart and soul went into her career and her loved ones. She cherished the time that she had with her family. Laura was loved by many and will be truly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her great-grandchild, Baby Carlos.
