Larry E. Rokash, 82, of Forsyth, passed away December 23, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Graveside service will be 11:30 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Maroa Township Cemetery, Maroa, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur is assisting the family.
Larry was born March 15, 1941 in Decatur, the son of Edgar A. and Winifred I. (Tozer) Rokash. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Larry married Nancy J. Nichols on August 17, 1971 in Clinton. After the Navy, Larry began working as an electrician for Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he worked for 32 years until his retirement. He enjoyed working in his yard and staying active by walking. Larry was known to enjoy an occasional cocktail and was always ready to help others.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Nancy; sons: Todd Overheul of Forsyth, Craig Overheul (Angel Clark) of Decatur, and Michael Overheul and partner, Sue of Franklin, OH; grandchildren: Falisha, Haley, Kalon, and Ashley; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces: Pam Chandler, Donna O’Laughlin (Kevin); and life-long friend: Pee Wee Higgins
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Jackie Brown and Norma McCoskey.
