Larry Jewitt

Larry Fredrick Jewitt, 73, of Argenta, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024 at his home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta.
Larry was born July 5, 1950 in Nanty Glo, PA, the son of Harry and Margaret (Derkes) Jewitt. He married Phyllis Murphy on October 6, 2007 in Argenta. He worked for Caterpillar for 23 years in York, Pennsylvania and then transferred to the Decatur plant and finished his 30-year career as a machinist. He was also a member and union steward for UAW Local 751. Larry loved hunting and enjoyed woodworking and reading books. He truly loved his little dog, Jenny. Larry was also a member of IBEW and United Steel Workers.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Phyllis; daughter, Tammy Almazon; 10 grandchildren; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-children; one brother, Barry Jewitt; and sisters: Donna Baker, Denise Jewitt and Yvonne Kinneman.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Isabella Hernandez.
