Larry D. Carter, 67, of Cerro Gordo, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Funeral service will be 12:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home in Cerro Gordo. Burial will be in La Place Cemetery.

Larry was born October 7, 1957 in Decatur, the son of Robert Dean and Patsy Ann (Gillespie) Carter. He was a truck driver for many years. When he wasn’t on the road, he enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his children: Charity Carter (Gavin) of Cerro Gordo, Sarah (Andrew) Henley of Jasper, TN, and Luke Carter (Misty Campbell) of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren: Cameron Henley, Ryleigh Carter, and Isaac Henley; brother, Allen (Vicki) Carter of Monticello; sister, Carolyn (Bruce) Stoddard of Monticello; and the mother of his children, Kathy (Randy) Black.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: David and Robert Carter; and his lifelong partner, Debra Poling.
