L. Marilyn Wolfer, 81, died at 4:50 pm on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. She was born April 8, 1926 in Christian County, Illinois. A daughter of Harold and Stella (Bliler) Ritter, she married Harold W. Wolfer on February 14, 1947 in Blue Mound, Illinois. They would have celebrated their 61st anniversary on Valentines Day, February 14, 2008. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes in Decatur. Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Friday, January 25th at the funeral home. Reverend Charles Banning will officiate, assisted by Donna Hord. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.Her husband survived her by only 16 hours. Mr. Wolfer died at 8:50 am Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Survivors include children Joyce Bishop (Tom Bottom) of Charleston, Karen Brown (Phil) of Macon, and Mark Wolfer and special friend Cindy Deadrick of Decatur; grandchildren Teresa Marburger (Alan), Nicholas Brown (Amber), Alex and Seth Brown, Aaron and Drew Wolfer; great-grandchildren Zackary, Austin, and Allison Marburger, and Kaleb and Page Brown; sister-in-law Arlone Ritter Dalluge and brother-in-law John Butterfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brother William H. Ritter and an infant brother and sister.Mrs. Wolfer was a homemaker and retired secretary. She was a fifty-year member of both Macon County Home Extension and Eastern Star, a regular at the Friendship Class Tuesday quilters sessions, and a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
