L. Michael Hiser, 71, of LaPlace, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015, in Englewood, FL. (Note: revised service arrangements). Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, February 27, at the funeral home. Burial will be in LaPlace Cemetery, LaPlace, IL, following the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or to the family. Michael was born April 18, 1943, in Decatur, IL. He was the son of Conrad and Eleanor (Good) Hiser. He married Joyce Etta Slade on May 5, 1974, in LaPlace, IL. Michael was a member of LaPlace Church of the Brethren. He was the owner of Hiser Trucking Company. Michael enjoyed cars and going to NASCAR races. He was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 40 years Joyce of LaPlace, IL; children: Robert Hiser of LaPlace, IL, Leslie (Brian) Wright of Cerro Gordo, IL, and Jerrime Hiser of LaPlace, IL; grandchildren: Haley, Aubrey, Braden, Dalton, Sierra, and Remington; brother: Don (Sharon) Hiser of Rice Lake, WI, and special brother-in-law Jim Price of LaPlace, IL Michael was preceded in death by his parents and sister Connie Price.
