L. Jack Belcher, 68, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011.Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 1:00 p.m until service time. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. The family requests casual attire.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.Jack was born June 6, 1942, in Decatur, the son of Bill and Ruth Belcher. He married Shirley F. Merriman on October 7, 1961, in Decatur. Jack was a truck driver for Cox Transfer. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Shirley of Decatur; children Jackie Larck (James)of Decatur, IL, Jeannie Winter (Alan) of Decatur, IL, Jerry Belcher (Melisa) of NC, Jeff Belcher (Kim) of Argenta, IL, and John Belcher of LaPlace, IL; son-in-law Duane Ghere of Cerro Gordo, IL; daughter-in-law Cindy Zieman of Albuquerque, NM; brother Ron Belcher and wife Cindy of Pipestone, MN; aunt Norma McPheron and husband Bill of Decatur, IL; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.Jack was preceded in death by his parents, son Jim, and daughter Julie.
