Kent Brown

Kent D. Brown, 58, of Newton, IL, formerly of Blue Mound, IL, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Private family graveside services will be held in Brown Cemetery in Blue Mound Twp., IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Kent was born August 26, 1956 in Decatur, IL, the son of Raymond A. and Phyllis A. (Hopkins) Brown. He was a Blue Mound High School graduate, and participated in sports in Blue Mound. Kent taught English and Speech for 30 years at Effingham High School and was a tennis coach in Effingham. He was a huge Illini fan and loved his dog Sadie very much. He is survived by his mother Phyllis A. Brown of Moweaqua, IL and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, sisters Lynette and Jeanette, and his dog Sadie. "
