Kenneth Ray York, 86, of Decatur, IL, died 12:46 A.M., Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Keystone Meadows in Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 20, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 4 to 7 P.M., Sunday, May 19, at the funeral home, with Masonic rites conducted at 7 P.M. by Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge #979 AF & AM. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Macon County Honor Guard. Kenneth was born May 18, 1926 in Palestine, IL, the son of Bert and Nellie M. (McDaniel) York. He married Rheba L. Maxwell on October 27, 1946 in Palestine, IL. She preceded him in death on August 12, 1988. Kenneth worked for General Transfer for 27 years before retiring. He was a 50 year member of Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge #979 AF & AM, member of American Legion #105, V.F.W. Post #99, D.A.V. Chapter #17, and Teamsters Union. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He is survived by his sons Mark York and wife Virginia, Rex York and wife Jane, Matt York and wife Marcy, all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Michelle Gregg and husband Tom, Tricia Norman, Vanessa McClelland and husband Brett, Kyle York and wife Laura, Beth York, Christy Brown, Dustin York, Ryan York and wife Jill, and 8 great grandchildren; sister Nina Plew of Hutsonville, IL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and one sister. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Wall and the staff at Keystone Meadows, especially Rita Morgan, for their wonderful and tender care given to Kenneth. "
