Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 10, 2011, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation 9:30 to 11:00 A.M., prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be handling the arrangements.Kenneth was born March 23, 1934 in Eighty-Eight, KY, the son of William and Mattie (Billingsley) McFarland. He married Vivian Ann Vogel on September 5, 1964 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2003.Kenneth was a career railroader with the Wabash, later the Norfolk & Western, and most recently Norfolk & Southern Railroad, retiring after many years of service. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan, Western movie fan and enjoyed attending family activities. Kenneth also enjoyed volunteering as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer at Christmas time.He is survived by his sisters: Barbara (Jim) Brown of Maroa, IL, Maxie Miller of St. Louis, MO, Stella Sturm of Tullahoma, TN; brother: George L. (Wanda) McFarland of Flower Mound, TX; He also had a special love for the Haywood Family: Shane & Dee and their children: Michelle and Lee.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Vivian, two sisters and three brothers.The family would like to give special thanks to his niece Mary Allen and husband Jim, Pastor Wray Offerman, his doctors, the DMH staff on floors 4, 5, 6, ICU, and especially ICU nurse Becky for their wonderful care and compassion given to Kenneth during his stay. "
