Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday July 23, 2010 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 10 - 11:00 AM Friday. Following the visitation there will be a Masonic service conducted by Ionic Masonic Lodge 312 AF & AM. Rev. Dean Cripe of Decatur will be conducting the funeral service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.Kenneth was born January 10, 1911 in Sangamon, IL, the son of James Pendelton and Agnes Etta (Ingle) Lichtenberger. He married Viola M. Jewell on December 9, 1934 near Kankakee, IL. She preceded him in death, May of 1977. On May 22, 1980 in Decatur, IL he married Ruth E. Robertson. Kenneth worked as a bank teller for First National Bank of Decatur for 49 years. He also did bookkeeping for several businesses including Rambo Pharmacy, Macon Speedway, Homer Roderick Service Station, Decatur Gun Club, and worked for Houdaille-Hershey during WWII making ammunition boxes.He was a member of Boiling Springs Church of God; Ionic Masonic Lodge 312 AF & AM, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple, Decatur Shrine Club, and the Moose Lodge #684 of Decatur, ILKenneth leaves behind his wife Ruth Robertson Lichtenberger of Swansea, SC; children Patricia A. (Robert) Brame of Warrensburg, IL; Carolyn S. (Marvin) Rau and David W. (Cynthia) Lichtenberger both of Decatur, IL; Roger L. (Susan) Lichtenberger of San Marcos, CA; sister Frances Witthrow of Decatur; IL eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Viola, brothers Clyde, and James, sisters Charlotte Gottlieb, Bernice Fulk, Lola Schikowski, Edith Scott, Ethel Giles and Glenna Rottler.The family would like to thank Cindy Wooldridge for the extraordinary and tender loving care given to our dad during the past three years. Kenneth will be missed by his family and many friends. "
