Kenneth Fogerson

Kenneth D. Fogerson, 79, of Decatur, died December 23, 2016 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 28 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Long Creek United Methodist Church.Kenneth was born July 6, 1937 in Bement, the son of Ray Alexander and Thelma (Spelbring) Fogerson. He married Leona Joan Nevius on January 1, 1954 and she preceded him in death. Kenneth worked for Van Horn Hybrids for over 40 years, retiring as general manager. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and loved to mow his beautiful property. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and was especially happy to watch them win the World Series. He was affiliated with Long Creek United Methodist Church.Kenneth is survived by his significant other, Karen Nevius; children, Doug (Sharon) Fogerson, Jo Ellen (Bob) Weaver, both of Decatur, and Brenda Fogerson of Cerro Gordo; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; one son, Russell Fogerson; daughter-in-law Barbara Fogerson; and one granddaughter Sara.The family would like to extend a special thank-you to all the nurses of DMH Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Kenneth. "
