Kenneth Lee Brooks, Sr., 72, of Hudson, FL, passed away, Monday afternoon, November 21st, 2016.He was born in Shelbyville, IL on April 1st, 1944. Kenneth was married to Diana Brooks on November 28th, 1963. They began their love and raised their family in Decatur, IL, before retiring to Hudson, FL. He retired early from Wagner Castings of Decatur, IL and became very involved in the lives of his family. He always made everyone feel special, whether it was a good home cooked meal, taking his grandkids on vacation to places like Florida, partnering with his son on home renovations, or opening he and Diana’s home and pool for a 4th of July party hosted by his daughters. He was one of the most giving people you could ever have met. You could feel how strong he loved through his generous heart. Along with his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Kenneth Brooks Jr. and wife Karen of Tarpon Spring, FL, his four granddaughters, Missy Page Kearns of Bangor, ME, Nicole Horne, Bridgett Robb and Heather Arndt of Decatur, their husbands, Josh Kearns, Travis Horne, Joel Robb, and Kris Arndt, his two grandsons, Bryan and Alex Cox of Joplin, MO, and his brother Hershel Jr. of Macon, IL. He is also survived by many wonderful great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by daughters Kimberly Brooks and Lisa Brooks, and grandson Zachary Morgan. Along with his brothers, Larry Sr., Ivan, and Charles Brooks, and his sister Darlene Alsup. Memorial services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services to follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be given to Holy Family Catholic Church.
