Kenneth Bailey

Kenneth Loren Bailey, 68, of Decatur, formerly of Harrisburg, died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 5:30 P.M. Thursday, August 9, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation following the service until 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in Boulden Church Cemetery, Eddyville, IL. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Kenneth was born June 25, 1944, in Eddyville, IL, the son of Van and Essie (Parsons) Bailey. He married Mamie Cates on September 11, 1966. She preceded him in death in 2007. Kenneth worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles as a customer service representative, retiring in 2005. Prior to that he worked at PPG from 1960-1993 as a shift supervisor. Kenneth was also a volunteer fireman for the Southwheatland Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed drag racing in Assumption, fishing, and going to the gambling boat. Kenneth loved video games, playing the guitar, and country and bluegrass music. He was also a member of the Eddyville Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his son Michael Bailey and Sueann McCollum and her children, Trever, Kyle, and Derek, all of Decatur; brother William Bailey of Eddyville; sister Kay Peppersack and husband Charles of Eddyville; granddaughter Anna, and special family friends, Chad Woollen and Ron French. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and grandson Cameron. "
