Keith Kater

Keith C. Kater, 84, of Decatur, IL, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012, at Heartland Health Care Center. Private family graveside services will be Tuesday, May 22, in Macon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Keith was born January 22, 1928, in Macon, IL, the son of Clifford J. and Goldie M. (Woolfe) Kater. He married Lula M. Guffey November 29, 1947, in Mayfield, KY. Surviving are his wife Lula of Decatur; daughters Nancy (David) King and Becky (William) Heitz, all of Decatur, IL; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brothers Jim (Barb) Kater of Macon, IL, Paul (Helen) Kater of Decatur, IL, and Jerry (Marilyn) Kater of Moweaqua, IL; sister Lola (Larry) Huggins of Lafayette, IN; and sister-in-law Gloria Kater of Decatur, IL. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Paulette, granddaughter Amanda, and brothers Glenn, Lloyd and Earl Kater. "
