CUSTOM DEATH NOTICE Kay E. (Corman) Allen, 76, of Decatur, died Sunday, August 2, 2009, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.Memorial services will be 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 5, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Macon County Memorial Park.Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics.Mrs. Allen was born May 5, 1933, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Robert Dean and Sara Mildred (Howell) Corman. She married Richard Paul Allen February 14, 1952, in Long Beach, California. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Allen worked as a teaching assistant for a number of years at Sunnyside School, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Central Christian Church and St. Marys Auxiliary. She enjoyed arts and crafts.Mrs. Allen is survived by her children: Debra K. Hancock and husband William of Decatur, Rebecca A. McBride of Decatur, and Andrew P. Allen and wife Laurie of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren: Amy and husband Andy, Jennifer and husband Matthew, Nicholas, Amanda and husband Jake, Hannah, Shelby, and Tammy; great grandchildren: Jorden, Mackenzie, Baylie, Mariah, Anthony, Kile, Kain, and Kyler; special friend Nelson Cole of Decatur, and lifelong friends Dave and Lucy (Tootie) Barthelemy of Decatur.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Douglas Richard Allen, step-father Everett E.
