Kathryn Anne Sheary, 65, of Forsyth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 26, 2024.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, December 2, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, with Rev. Michael Friedel, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
Kathryn was born February 1, 1959 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Doris Anne (Woodard) Eden. She married John Sheary on January 12, 1991 in Decatur. Kathryn taught for many years in Maroa-Forsyth Schools and later became an assistant principal at MacArthur High School in Decatur. She enjoyed playing golf and gardening. Kathryn was passionate about giving back to her community, volunteering with the Junior Welfare Association and Susan G. Komen Walk in Decatur. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and volunteered with Gifted at the church.
Surviving are her husband of 33 years, John Sheary; father, Thomas Eden; children: Leslie Sheary, Jacob (Samantha) Sheary and Kiersten (Brock) Baer; grandchildren: Scottie, McKenna, Laela and Nyomi; sisters: Julie (Dan) Wortman, Brenda Eden; and brother, Rick Eden.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her mother and a daughter, Anne Marie.
