Kathryn Heer

Kathryn Ann (Daly) Heer, 66, of Decatur, IL, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Lincolnshire Place, Decatur, IL. Because of COVID, a private family memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 23, 2020 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Memorials in Kathy’s honor may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Kathy was born December 4, 1953, in Moberly, MO, the daughter of Thomas Edward Daly and Sheila Louise (Finnell) Daly. She married William Michael Heer on October 12, 1974 in Decatur, IL. Kathy graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in nursing and worked for DMH Health Care and later was Director of Nursing for Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, cooking, and loved her family and grandkids. She was a member of the YMCA and involved with the survivors group for the Race for the Cure. She was also co-chair for the Race for the Cure. Kathy is survived by her husband Michael of 46 years; son Todd M. Heer and wife Amy of Woodridge, IL and daughter Amanda N. Maas and husband John of Mt. Zion, IL; grandchildren Emma K. Heer and Kaleb M Heer of Woodridge, IL, and Lucas M. Maas, Lexie C. Maas, and Alyssa M Maas of Mt. Zion, IL; her father Thomas Edward Daly of Jenson Beach, FL; brothers Michael E. Daly and wife Ann of Chicago, IL and Kevin P. Daly and wife Michelle of Vero Beach, FL. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Sheila Louise Daly and brother Timothy Shane Daly.
