Kathie F. Coins, 64, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Services are under the direction of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur, IL where visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Long Point Cemetery, Niantic, IL. Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research with the American Cancer Society.
Kathie was born on December 9, 1960 in Red Bay, AL, the daughter of Hertis and Helen (Sappington) Williams. She married Terry Coins on October 21, 1981 in Decatur, IL.
She had worked at Furrow’s, serving in multiple departments in the store. She truly loved being a mom and grandma.
She is survived by her husband Terry Coins of Decatur; her mother Helen Sappington of Decatur: her 3 children, Jason (wife Courtney Hurst) Coins of Decatur, Laura (husband Harley) Skelton of Decatur; and Matthew Coins of Decatur; her 2 grandchildren, Calvin Wayne Coins and Luke Skelton; and her 3 siblings, Gloria (husband Richard) Hopp or Decatur, Bryan (wife Gina) Williams, Sr. of Decatur, and Jeffrey Bishop of Carbondale, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father Hertis Williams.
