Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Camp Ground Cemetery, Galt, MO. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, IL and Kent Funeral Home, Green City, MO are in charge of the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church 1360 West Main Decatur, IL 62522 or to Camp Ground Cemetery c/o Kent Funeral Home Green City, MO 63545.Mrs. DeWitt was born in Milan County, Missouri on May 2, 1914, the daughter of Frank and Norma (West) Johnson. She graduated from Milan Missouri High School in 1931 and attended Kirksville Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman University). She taught in Sullivan County schools. She married Lyle V. DeWitt on May 4, 1940 in First Christian Church, Trenton, Missouri by Rev. James Todd, much loved minister who also officiated at the wedding of her parents, as well as the weddings of both her brothers and their wives. Her husband preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.Mrs. DeWitt was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, having served as a deaconess, and was active in various church programs. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, Decatur Club, Honorary member of the Country Club of Decatur, member and past president of BW Chapter of PEO, member and past president of Decatur Day Nursery, member of United Way Board, Girls Welfare Board, YWCA Board, and Womens Illinois State Shorthorn Lassie Board. She and her husband were members of the founding organization of Decatur Trail Riders Club.Mrs. DeWitt is survived by her sister-in-law Willa Dean Johnson, Jefferson City, MO, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one nephew.Katharyn enjoyed her family, friends and phone calls she received. She will be dearly missed by all her loving family and friends. "
