Karon Ginger

Karon D. Ginger, 73, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. Memorials may be made to Life Builders Church. Karon was born February 2, 1944 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Ernest James and Evelyn (Mowry) Smith. She married Nial A. Ginger, Sr. in Decatur, IL and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2013. Karon was a member of Life Builders Church. She loved her family, especially her grandkids. She is survived by her children Nial A. (Malinda K.) Ginger, Jr. of Decatur, Rodney Dewayne (Julie) Ginger of Niantic, Melissa L. (Taveil) Rice of Decatur, Mike (Patty) O’Neill of Lincoln, IL; 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; brothers Richard Smith of Decatur, Leo Smith of Allensville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children Jeff and James, grandson Little Rodney, two great grandsons, and two sisters. "
