Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 1, at the funeral home. Cremation rites to be accorded.Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to National Humane Society.Karen was born on March 27, 1951, in Berwyn, IL, the daughter of William J. and Jacquelyn (Larson) Willis.Karen worked at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, creative needlepoint, and her pets.Surviving are her son Charles M. Irey III and wife Tina of Chicago; grandchildren Charlie M. Irey IV, Noah T. Irey, and Emily Rose Irey, all of Chicago; stepfather James McCarley of Decatur; brothers William G. Willis and wife Terri of Chicago, and Gary Willis of Mt. Vernon, IL; and sister Linda Willis Wood of Gainesville, GA; and childhood best friend Kathy Nyberg and family.Karen was preceded in death by her mother Jacquelyn and father William. "
