Karen (Prater) Moore, 68, of Decatur, IL passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Symphony Nursing home. There will be no services. Karen was born on June 10, 1944 in Berkley, CA the daughter of Felix John and Viola Lilian (Stryker) LaBlanche. She married Wilson Prater in 1963 and he passed away in 2008. Surviving are one son, Ron Prater (and his wife Kristi) of Decatur, IL; one daughter Kathy Prater of Tampa, FL; one grandson, Joseph Bell of Decatur, IL; one granddaughter Chancie Rose Prater of Rantoul, IL. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandson. Other special family members that were greatly loved are Bud, Elaine, Cheri, Terri, Dan, and Ollie. She especially loved her special pets, "Dottie" and "Cookie." Karen was a homemaker, an avid reader, and loved to cook, especially cheesecake and meatloaf. She adored Christmas and loved selecting the perfect gift for everyone. Karen was happily re-baptized by Father John Burnette of St. James Catholic Church and felt at peace of entering heaven. The family would like to thank Symphony of Decatur nursing staff, especially Marilyn who treated her with love and respect; and caregiver, Leslie who was a special friend. "
