June Roby

June L. Roby, 89, of Decatur, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013. June was born on June 6, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Mildred (Olsen) Pemble. She was a member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and active in their PW Group and her Circle. She enjoyed her many friends, flowers, and tole painting. She married Verne E. Roby on February 3, 1944, in the Navy Chapel on Treasure Island, San Francisco, California. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2003. June leaves behind her daughters, Sue (Doug) Hetz-Edwards of Berthoud, Colorado, Gayle (John) Roby-Lehman of Arlington, Massachusetts, and Diane (John) Miller, of Wabash, Indiana; grandchildren Jennifer, Jeremy, John (Andrea), Laura, and Brendan; great-grandson, Tanner; brother, James (Connie) Pemble; and her precious dog, Brown Sugar. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Paula Gene. A service celebrating June's life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Verne and June Roby Tabor School of Business Scholarship at Millikin University, or Westminster Presbyterian Church. "
