Judith Hughes

Judith S. Hughes, 70, of Decatur, IL, died 10:03 P.M., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or DMH Foundation. Judith was born January 8, 1941, in W. Frankfort, IL, the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Eadie) Stelzriede. She married William Hughes in 1977 in Decatur, IL. Judith was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Gracious Gals, at the church. She attended S.I.U.C. Judith later worked as Payroll Clerk for 23 years at Decatur Memorial Hospital, and was affectionately known as "Payroll Judy". She was an avid reader, enjoyed working with stained glass and cross stitching, and especially loved family activities. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William "Bill" of Decatur, IL; sons Ed Hughes (Mary Ellen) of Liberty, MO, Rick Hughes (Deb) of Hackensack, MN, Scott Kovaleski (Karen) of Montara, CA, Todd Kovaleski (Courtney) of Belvidere, IL; 5 grandchildren and twin granddaughters on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents. "
