Juanita M. Catlin, 97, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024.
Private family services will be held. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family.
Juanita was born March 18, 1926 in Decatur, the daughter of Charles and Lola Owens. She married David Catlin on June 11, 1944 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2011. Juanita worked for 20 years at Grant’s Department Store in Galesburg. She enjoyed reading, played golf and stayed active and loved going on walks. She attended the Methodist Church and volunteered for many years at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Coplan of Arizona; sons: James (Jeannie) Catlin of Colorado and Cary Catlin of Decatur; grandchildren: Michael Burks, David Burks, Sarah Catlin-Vahling, Joseph Catlin, Aaron Lopez; great-grandchildren: Joshua Catlin, Jennifer Catlin, Sean Duarte, Aaron Duarte, Patrick Duarte, Jacob Vahling, and Ally Vahling; and sister, Barbara Clark.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Catlin; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
