Juanita L. “Louise” Baity, 102, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024 at her daughter’s home.

She was born on April 30, 1922 in Blue Mound, IL, the daughter of the late James Albert and Mabel Susan (Overmeier) Stone.

Juanita had worked as a beautician at a local nursing home. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and was very active in her church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, and tending to her flowers. She loved animals and nature, and especially enjoyed feeding squirrels.

She is survived by her daughter Juneita Baity of Decatur; her son James E. (wife Beverly) Baity of Macon, IL; a grandson James M. Baity and his daughter Grace; a granddaughter Angela “Niki” (husband Les) Ruffner; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Carl Stone; a sister Alberta Friend; a sister-in-law Dorothy Stone; and a brother-in-law Frank Friend, Sr.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. A graveside funeral service will then be held at 12 Noon at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
