Joyce Streight

Joyce C. Streight, 88, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 6:19 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to: Grace United Methodist Church. Joyce was born May 13, 1927, in Decatur, the daughter of Norman and Marguerite (Ashcraft) Poole. She married Roscoe Allen Streight on May 10, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2010. Joyce was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and formerly of Trueblood United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked for CHELP from 1977-1997, retiring as Executive Director. Joyce enjoyed traveling, especially to Southwest Colorado and Hawaii, and was an avid Bridge player. Surviving are her son: Dennis Streight and wife Janet of Clinton, IL; granddaughter: Elizabeth Smith and husband Christopher of Nashville, TN; grandson: Andrew Streight of Bloomington, IL; and sister-in-law: Marge Poole of St. Charles, IL. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Norman Poole. "
