Joyce Luetta Schlesier, 88, of Morton, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with Deacon Kevin Zeeb officiating. Memorials in Joyce’s honor may be made to: Morton H.S. Band Parents, 350 N. Illinois St., Morton, IL 61550. Joyce felt this organization was instrumental in helping to make her grandchildren better adults.
Joyce was born May 19, 1936, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Ross and Lucille M. (Kraft) McVey. She married Jon C. Schlesier on September 21, 1958 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2005.
Joyce was a life long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She worked for Decatur Auto Auction as a secretary for 20 plus years before retiring. Joyce enjoyed playing bunco with her friends for 40 years. Family was very important to Joyce and she was always at her grandchildren’s activities, cheering them on.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Joni Little and husband Kevin of Morton, IL; grandchildren: Kayla Little, Jacob Little, and Jon Little.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Jon C. Schlesier; and daughter Sandra Schlesier.
