Joseph Louis Gentry, 83, of Argenta, IL, died 11:25 A.M., Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 14, 2011, at Calvary Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Macon County Animal Shelter. Joseph was born April 6, 1928, in Decatur, IL, the son of Erney W. and Catherian L. (Smith) Gentry. He retired from A.E. Staley after many years of service. Joseph loved fishing, gardening, and enjoyed making home made wine. He is survived by his sisters Maxine Brosius of Virginia, Betty Renfro of Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles, Ernest Jr., Robert and Harold Gentry, sisters June Huston, Vaneeta Gleeson and Margaret Ann Forkner; and his dog "Penny". The family would like to give a special thank you to Gloria and Starla, his two "angels on Earth". "
