Jonathan Thompson

Jonathan D. Thompson, 70, of Mt. Zion, IL, died Monday, March 27, 2017. Private family graveside services will be held Friday, March 31, at 2:00 p.m. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family. Jon was born May 6, 1946, in Decatur, son of Leland Dale and Sara Ann (Frazee) Thompson. He married Barbara A. Schroeder December 31, 1966. Jon was a 50 year member of IBEW Local 146 and an IBEW apprenticeship instructor. He leaves behind Barbara, his wife of 50 years; son Jon Michl (partner Sherry Adams) of Mt. Zion; cherished granddaughter Mckayla of Mt. Zion; mother Ann Thompson of Decatur; sister Linda Williams of Decatur; and brother-in-law Ken Schroeder (Mary Jane) of Harristown. Jon was preceded in death by his father Dale Thompson, one nephew and one niece. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army of Decatur or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Jon will be deeply missed by his family and friends. "
