John Young

John Eric Young, 45, of Decatur, IL, passed away November 29, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, at St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Eric was born December 8, 1968, in Decatur, IL, the son of John A. and Ginger R. (Threlkeld) Young. He married Trichel on July 4, 2014, in Mt. Zion, IL. Eric was a member of St. James Catholic Church, and Local Carpenters Union 270 in Decatur, IL. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Steelers fan. He enjoyed basketball, being outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Eric had a heart of gold and would help anyone who was in need. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife Trichel of Decatur; step-sons: Martin and Blake Bayless of Decatur, IL; parents John and Ginger of Decatur, IL; sisters: Chris Smith, Kim Sumner and Kathy Young, all of Decatur, IL; mother-in-law: Virginia Trichel; sisters-in-law: Stacey Walters and Chassity (Paul) Foster; brothers-in-law: Nathan (Shannon) Trichel, Michael Trichel, and Chad Dodson; nieces: Brittany Smith, Chelsee Sumner, Torri Sumner, Kourtney Young, and Karissa Sumner; nephews: Michael Smith and Kody Lewis. Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew Steven Young. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of donor's choice. "
