John Thomas White, 65, of Decatur, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 in his home. John was born March 18, 1954, in Decatur, son of Marshall D. and Florence McAnelly White. John served his country proudly with the U.S. Air Force. He was a truck driver, retiring after 15 years. John was a member of the American Legion Post 105, and enjoyed model trains and dogs, especially German Shepherds. John is survived by his children: Jason White of N.C., Sherry White of Pekin, IL, Kendell Joplin and husband John Jr. of Oreana, IL, and Danny White and wife Amanda of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Mason (Kayla), Laticia, Derek (Alicia), Alex, Austin (Kaylnn), Tyler, Johnathan, Dakota, and Levi; seven great-grandchildren; sister: Marilyn (Bob) Clemmens; brother: Martin (Noma) White; two nieces and one nephew; and special companion German Shepherd, Bruiser. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Marsha. Cremation rites to be accorded. Graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, with military rites, at a later date. "
