"Hondo", John Joseph Hetz, Jr., 69, of Decatur, died April 16, 2015. Memorial services in honor of his life will be held at First Christian Church, 3350 N. MacArthur Rd. on Monday, April 27, at 10:30 A.M. with visitation at 10:00 A.M. Celebration of John's life following services at The Main Hanger Restaurant, 910 S. Airport Road, until 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic School, 2400 S. Franklin St., Decatur, IL 62521, or charity of choice. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, in charge of arrangements. John was born January 16, 1946, in Decatur, Illinois, son of John Joseph Hetz and Daisy (Scott) Hetz. He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1964, lettering in basketball, track, and football. John attended Millikin University and was affiliated with Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. John was a retired iron worker with Iron Workers Local #46. He was an avid hunter and Dodger fan. John married Sue Roby in 1967. He was the Number One Fan of his grandson, Tanner, attending all of his baseball, football, basketball, and soccer games. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include: daughter, Jennifer Hetz; son, Jeremy Hetz; grandson, Tanner Hetz; brother, Stan Kiser (Bert); nephews, Mike Kiser (Rose), Steve Kiser ( Brenda); great-nephews and great-niece, Jeremy, Jake, James, Jesse, and C.J.; and Grand Dog Albert. His father, mother, sister, and grandparents preceded him in death. "
