Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Offermann at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 19, 2009, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church.John was born September 20, 1915, in Fayette County, IL, the son of Emma L. (Sasse) and Ernest Henrichsmeyer. He married Leona Oertwig on April 23, 1966 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2004.John was member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Decatur. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. John worked at Sonnemann Lumber Company in Vandalia. He moved to Decatur in 1965 and was an inspector at General Electric. After retirement he was manager of the Lincoln Co-op apartments for years. He enjoyed working with his hands making crafts and fixing things.Surviving are his stepdaughter Ruth E. (Charles) Gift; daughter-in-law Shirley Henrichsmeyer; grandchildren Amy Stock, Alan Henrichsmeyer, Richard Gift, Rhonda Hinman and Roxanne Frisby; 6 great grandchildren; 3 nieces and 5 nephews; sister-in-law Martha Shull.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leona, stepson Glenn R., three brothers and one sister.
