John Graham

Dr. John R. Graham, 96, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018, at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to the mass at the church. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials in Dr. Graham’s honor may be given to St. James Catholic Church. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Dr. Graham was born July 9, 1922, in Illiopolis, IL, son of John David and Clara Marie (Swanson) Graham. He married Mary Grace Bean on June 26, 1948, in Springfield, IL. She preceded him in death. Dr. Graham was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during WWII. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Golden K of Decatur, IL, Illinois Podiatry Association and was past president of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Graham was passionate in helping people in his podiatric practice. Surviving are his children, John R. Graham, Jr. and wife Marsha of Decatur, IL, Dr. Terrence Michael Graham and wife Amy of Decatur, IL, Dr. Timothy J. Graham and wife JoAnn of Taylorville, IL, Mary Elizabeth Doyle of Des Moines, IA, Anne Michelle Graham of Decatur, IL, Dr. James C. Graham of Effingham, IL, and Christopher D. Graham of Des Moines, IA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dr. Graham was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Grace, and sister, Rosemary Graham Erdmann.
