Gessaman 69, of Decatur, IL passed away Sunday, January 25, 2008 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday January 29, 2008 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL Memorials to Body of Christ Church, 213 N. Main St. P.O. Box 78 Buffalo, IL 62515John was born July 12, 1939 the son of Paul W. and Irene A. (Leibengood) Gessaman.He married Martha Ragsdale on June 1, 1958 in Decatur, IL. He married Sharon Jennings on May 18, 1974 in Decatur, IL.John was a member of the Body of Christ Church in Buffalo, IL. He worked for Orkin for 20 years and was a self-employed roofer, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Surviving children : Kelly (Larry) Kahler of Conyers, GA Tiffany Gessaman of Decatur, IL Grandchildren Jacob, Heath, Colby and Ashley, one great-grandchild Oliva, brothers Vern ( Lindy) Gessaman Florence, OR, David (Linda) Gessaman, Buffalo, IL Mike (Sharon) Gessaman Oreana, IL, sister Rose (BJ) Piatt White, GA, special friend Magie Crotser of Decatur, ILPreceded in death by parents, two wives, one son Jeff, three sisters Barbara, Wilma, and Lila, brother Richard.The family would like to give special thanks to the Emergency Room and ICU West nurses at Decatur Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care. John was called home to be with the Lord with many of his loved ones present. He joins many from the Gessaman family who have been waiting patiently for his homecoming.
