John Phillip Fawcett, 62, of Decatur, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, in his residence. Visitation will be 4:30-7:30 PM Monday, April 28,2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father John Burnette, Celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur, IL. John was born January 12, 1952 in Decatur, the son of John W. and Antoinette E. (Zilinskas) Fawcett. He married Sheila (Kennedy) Fawcett at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Decatur on June 23, 1973. John worked for 23 years as Superintendent of the ADM East Refinery, and was dedicated to his job. He was a member of the Darrell Beck Chapter, Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. John is survived by his wife Sheila, of Decatur; sons Michael J. Fawcett and Joseph T. Fawcett, both of Decatur; sisters Mary Ann Fawcett and Patty Ann Fawcett, both of Decatur. John also leaves behind his beloved extended family of sisters-and-brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. John will be remembered above all for the tremendous love he showed for his family. His sons were his joy. He enjoyed traveling, was an avid sports fan, possessed a unique affinity for all of his dogs, and enjoyed a good cigar. His professionalism and dedication to his work taught his family valuable life lessons that they will always hope to exemplify. He cared deeply about his employees, was honored to work with them and was proud of their achievements. John loved his lifelong friends who supported him and left an indelible impression on his life.
