John Frederick Cordts, 72, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016, at his residence.John was born June 6, 1944, in Decatur, IL, the son of Vernon Roscoe and Marvel Lorraine (Harshbarger) Cordts. He married Barbara Rozena Cooper on May 4, 1968 in Decatur, IL.John worked for Tate and Lyle for 30 years as an accountant. He also worked for Houston Patterson for 2 years, and Team Electronics for 2 years. John was a graduate of Atwood High School and Millikin University, and was a member of SAE Fraternity at Millikin University. John was a member of Lake Fork Church in Atwood, IL.He is survived by his wife Barbara Cordts of Decatur, IL; daughter Sheri Cordts of Bloomington, IL; siblings Roz Bruce and husband Ken of Springfield, IL, Tom Cordts and wife Paula of Forsyth, IL, Julie Shipton and husband Steve of Palatine, IL; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.
