Joey Drew Forbes, 48, of Fishers, passed away on October 19 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 8, 1969 in Decatur, Illinois to Stephen and Joanne Forbes. Joey graduated from Cerro Gordo High School. He then graduated from ITT. Joey worked for Hi-Tech (now Morrell Inc) while attending ITT. Joey left Hi-Tech and worked for a few other companies, Buzz Electronics, Conseco, and SingleSource, as a computer program developer, but returned to Morrell Inc in 2014 as an Application Engineer. In this capacity, he rewrote new programs for the company and also earned the title of Hydraulic Engineer and worked in the hydraulics division. Joey enjoyed his computer work, often working into late evenings, after hours and weekends. He often played video games with his father and younger brother, Tom, and good friend, Dan Justice. He enjoyed food, cooking, Sci-Fi, movies, and spending time with his close-knit group of friends. Joey was a giver and had a heart as big as a basketball; he would do anything to help someone. He had an infectious laugh and loved to have a good time. Joey is survived by his parents, Steve and Joanne; brothers, Rodney (Lisa), Tom (Jie), and Daniel (Michelle); his“assimilated” brother, Dan (Heidi) Justice; nieces and nephews, Emily, Jacob, Zachary, Alyssa, Ike, Calvin, and Birdie; Joey’s mentor and good friends, Rod (Debbie) Cripps; and many other family members and friends. A Remembrance of Joey will be from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel; with a eulogy beginning at 11:30 a.m. Friends are encouraged to come and share memories and stories with Joey’s family. A memorial service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m on Sunday, October 29 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home.
