Joan Wagner, 78, of Oakley, IL, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Amber Glen Memory Care in Urbana, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 1 with prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials in Joan’s honor may be made to the Humane Society. Joan was born March 30, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of Lawrence and Edna (Grade) Heidgerken. She married Ronald Eugene Wagner May 19, 1962, in Decatur. He preceded her in death. Joan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Small Business Association and the Farm Bureau. She was the owner of Almost Home Pet Motel. Joan loved gardening, animals, traveling, taking walks and nature, and was a Cardinal baseball fan. Surviving are her son: Mark Wagner and wife Barbara of Urbana, IL; daughter-in-law: Dana Wagner of Oakley, IL; grandchildren: Tiffany and Ronnie Wagner of Oakley, IL; siblings: Jeanine Laroe of Ivesdale, IL, Lawrence Heidgerken and wife Tanya of Decatur, IL, David Heidgerken of Cerro Gordo, IL and Mary Martin and husband Mike of Champaign, IL. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Scott, and brother-in-law James Laroe.
